AMVETS is a veterans service organization open to anyone who is currently serving, or who has honorably served, in the U.S. Armed Forces including the National Guard and Reserves. Annual membership dues are $35 FOR POST 48. Life memberships are as followed: 55 years and under $500, 56-65 years $400, 66 years and older $300.

Eligibility for membership in the Sons of AMVETS shall be limited to all male descendants, grandsons, adopted sons and stepsons, fathers, husbands, widowers and brothers of members of AMVETS and deceased members of AMVETS, or service personnel, who died and would have been eligible for membership in the parent AMVETS organization, and are at least eighteen (18) years of age and is not eligible for membership in the parent organization. This is not to include in-laws of any type.

Eligibility for membership in the AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary shall be limited to the mothers, wives, grandmothers, regardless of age, and to the daughters, stepdaughters (a stepdaughter must have been a dependent of an AMVET or deceased veteran prior to their eighteenth birthday to be eligible), sisters and granddaughters (of any lineage), not less than 18 years of age, of regular members of AMVETS; and to the mothers and widows, regardless of age, and to the daughters (of any lineage) , sisters and granddaughters, not less than 18 years of age, of deceased veterans who would have been eligible for membership in AMVETS, and female veterans who served honorably in the Armed Forces of the United States after September 15, 1940, or as an American Citizen in the Armed Forces of Allied countries after September 15, 1940, and before May 8, 1975, who maintain their AMVET membership unless they meet the established eligibility criteria. The term mother shall be construed to include any female member of the family, or any female guardian of such person or deceased veteran, who has exercised or is exercising the care and responsibility for the rearing of such person or deceased veteran, or a stepdaughter not less than eighteen (18) years of age.

If you would like to become a social member, you will need to sponsored by a Post, Sons or Auxiliary member and approved by Post 48 Officers. Annual Dues are $40 and an application can be picked up at the canteen.
